Heute hatten wir eine Probestunde beim örtlichen Gymboree Play & Music Center.
Schon eine ganze Weile bin ich auf der Suche nach einer sinnvollen Beschäftigung für das Munchkin; und zwar am besten eine, die dieses Kind endlich mal auspowert und dabei auch noch bilingual ist. Gestern hab ich dann also Nägel mit Köpfen gemacht.
Wir haben schon viel Gutes über Gymboree gehört gehabt, denn einige Patientinnen vom Herzmann waren mit ihren Zwergen dort und sind samt und sonders begeistert. Nach unserem Einkauf im Forum Bogenhausen sind wir also bei Gymboree vorbei und haben uns Infomaterial geben lassen. :lesen:
Die Mitarbeiterinnen sind alle super nett und hilfsbereit. Alle, die wir gestern und heute dort getroffen haben, sind englische Muttersprachler. Sie können alle deutsch, aber ihre Hauptsprache ist englisch und auch der Kurs wird in englisch gehalten. Sehr angenehm, wie ich finde !
Da also heute noch ein Platz in der 11:00 Uhr Gruppe frei war haben wir uns für die kostenlose Probestunde angemeldet.
Heute sind wir dann pünktlich um 11 Uhr dort aufgeschlagen und waren sehr gespannt. Das Munchkin hat, wie immer, keine Berührungsängste und ist sofort losgeflitzt, die ganzen Spielsachen und Klettergerüste dort erkunden. 😀
Die Kurse sind kindgerecht und durch die Interaktion werden auch die Lieder erträglich – es sind halt so Klatschspiele etc. Und vor allen Dingen hält sich die Singerei in Grenzen – 5 Minuten am Anfang und 5 Minuten am Ende der Stunde. Das ist sogar für das Munchkin nicht zuuu langweilig. :boring: Der Zwerg hier braucht ja schließlich Action, Action und nochmal Action. Irgendwie hab ich das (zweifelhafte) Glück, dass ich hier einen „Natural Born Thrill-Seeker“ zuhause habe … :teeth:
Alles in allem dauert der Kurs etwa 50 Minuten und hat dem Kind richtig viel Spaß gemacht. Das Zwergerl war voll des Glücks ob der ganzen Tamburine, Rasseln, Glöckchen, Kletterelemente etc.
Und, was soll ich sagen ? Ich habe jetzt hier zuhause ein völlig erschlagenes Kind 😀 Endlich ! Noch schnell das Mittagessen eingeworfen, liegt der Krümel jetzt friedlich im Bett und schläft :yawn:
Da mir das schon dort vor Ort klar war, dass es so kommt, weil die Gähnerei direkt nach der Stunde angefangen hat, hab ich also direkt eine 3-Monats-Mitgliedschaft abgeschlossen.
Uns hat das Konzept und die Stunde gefallen, das Kind hatte Spaß, die Kosten sind überschaubar – was will man mehr ? Also werden wir das jetzt bis Ende Januar durchziehen und uns dann überlegen, wie wir weiter vorgehen werden 🙂

Today we had a tryout at our local Gymboree Play & Learn
I’ve been looking for a reasonable activity to do with the little one for quite a while now. This was not so easy because I was looking for something that will challenge the munchkin, bring fun and have bilingual classes.
So yesterday, after our shopping trip, we hopped in the Gymboree Center at the Forum Bogenhausen. A couple of the hubby’s patient went there with their kids and they all were excited about it and how the kids loved it. So we picked up some information material :lesen: and decided to give it a go.
The staff in our „gym“ is very friendly and all of them are native speakers of English. Of course, they all are speaking German, too (and pretty well !), but the lesson we decided on is held in English. Well, as they still had a free space for the 11 a.m. lesson today, we booked our free-of-charge tryout.
Today we went there perfectly on time to explore everything right before our class started. The munchkin is, as always, not shy at all, but started to crawl all over the place, exploring all the interesting stuff there. 😀
Classes are suitable for babies aged from 6 to 10 months and because the songs are more like clapping games it is okay. Not too much singing at all during the lesson; like 5 mins at the beginning and 5 mins at the end of class. Even for the munchkin that’s not too boring at all. :boring: My cutie pie is a very active baby as I might already have mentioned. It’s all about action, action and … action. Seems as if I had a „Natural Born Thrill-Seeker“ :teeth:
All in all it takes like 50 mins and the kiddo was having tons of fun ! The munchkin was so happy having so many timbrels, rattles, bells, jungle bars etc. to play with.
So, what should I say ? I do have a completely pooped out baby at home 😀 Finally !!! It was all like „gimme the food, quick“ and then – off to bed the little one went :yawn:
I was pretty sure that something like that would happen as the munchkin started yawning directly after the class whilst still being at the gym. So I decided to take the 3-months-membership.
We like what they do and how they do it, the kiddo was having fun, costs are acceptable – can you wish for more ? So we will go to the gym till the end of January now and then we will reconsider if we stay or do something else. 🙂
